Yeah I know it's been FOREVER since my last post. Suck it.

Anyways here is Mikes SW 29er. Super cool for a crusty old duffer who has been still riding the Bontrager they bought in 1991. Kind of an upgrade dontchya think? DT SS hubs, white ZTR rims for wheels. Still waiting on the SW cranks so he's got polished XTR on for now. The coolest thing (besides the frame) is the fork. Reba 29er with a just-for specialized tapered carbon crown/steerer. Sick.

RUSTY Johnson

Oh crap. The Sh!t is hitting the fan now. Dusty Johnson's dad Rusty has been spotted in a hourly motel off Pacific Avenue in SeaTac. Apparantly he got wind of Dusty's location and is still wicked pissed that Dusty stole his El Camino and his pack of Camel's back in 89. No slouch himself on the CX course he figured he could take a tip from his not so bright son and score some cash from the suckers in tomorrows MFG race. We'll see how he looks. Apparently he has been gettin hosed playing beer hunter until the wee hours of the morning. The last time he got so wasted he thought he was the tooth fairy and was trying to rip all grill's out of mouths of the Trunk Boiz.

Dusty Johnson is a former dirt track stock car racer. He had to go into hiding via the Federal Witness Protection Program after being forced to testify against the mafia. You see, he had inside knowledge on their entire moonshine distribution network in Chattanooga. After the mob threatened his sister/daughter (whom he later married, divorced, and hooked up with again later.) He decided that he would give up is once illustrious drifting career and begin selling counterfeit lawn darts direct from China. Once Donny's business partner. He was forced out of the lawn dart game after a host of lawsuits from angry one-eyed faulty lawn dart customers. Long story short, in order to raise money for Skoal and Jack Daniels he occasionally picks off some suckers at a local cx race for money. I'm pretty sure this week he took a dive this week as evidenced by his lackluster result and the gym bag of cash he was seen loading into the passenger seat of his cherry El Camino. I'm not sure if he'll race again this season, but keep your fingers crossed.

Joey's Singlecross

Here is something new. Joey's 2008 Specialized Tricross Singlecross. This is the second person I have seen buy a stock singlecross and literally change every part. Maybe the big S needs to offer a frameset option? Joey Jo-Jo had spent enough on green anodized parts to buy a small island in the Caribbean. Last week we heard from K-Mac ,"Joey if you didn't spend all that money on green shit you could have bought a bike with gears!" Who would have thought the kid had it in him? It is a lovely looking build though. Even if it does look like the Grinch blew a snot rocket all over it.

Mike's "BLUE VELVET"

Another version of the sexiest frame for 2010! Mike B's "Blue Velvet" is silky smooth! Reflex rims on King Hubs, Revo spokes and Tufo tires. Rival with a S-Works BB30 crankset set up as a single ring. Thomson post with a saddle the PERFECTLY matches the blue decals. He won the saddle in a commuting mileage contest! This bike is light, durable, and sexy. One note for Mike. Drop the hoods a little will ya. Your mom isn't riding this thing. (I can tell you what she is riding though!)

OK so some big time mag beat me to the punch but here's a couple of pics D and I snapped of the 2010 Cannondale XTJ. Pretty much the same spec that we're using in the shop. While the Ksyriums are one of the best wheels ever made, when it gets to this kind of spec we're often building with R-SYS or Carbone Ultimates. TJ seems to agree as he used both of those all last season. Hmmm didn't see he or Sven EXPLODING R-Sys last year. Apparantly they only have problems when you're "just riding along"

Tim will probably be using the alternate color J-Pows was using. Cannondale will be producing this as well. Both colors look great and the CAAD 9 decal on the inside of the fork legs is a nice touch.

FYI we talked to Tim for a quick bit and we may be able to pull off another CX night this year at the shop. Stay tuned!

Russ' Fixie

Ok I'm going to post a fixie. For those of you who know me know that I hate fixies. Don't get me wrong I like any kind of bike, and these bikes can be very cool. I even got suckered into "fixie fever" and bought one. I never ride it though because I like my gears and feel like I'm getting kicked in the a$$ every time I try to sit down after climbing. Besides I don't own tight enough pants, a visor, stupid f-ing sunglasses, or even a sweet top tube pad. I am saving up for some love/hate knuckle tatoos so I can have some street cred when the next trustafarian brings in his 5sp motobecane for a fixed conversion.

So he calls his bike "Purple Rain" which makes me wonder. Do you have to wear special pants to ride it? I can truly appreciate the purple touches though. No everyone is willing to anodize a campy crank. Well some might. It's a ton of work to put something together like this. I can appreciate it as well because rides the hell out of this thing as evidenced by his he-man goat legs! To him it is not just some art piece to sit in front of the coffee shop.

"It's ok, I own a bike shop." That's what the sticker needs to say on Dmitri's new ride. Forged in the hell fires of Mt. Doom comes this murdered out beauty. Rising like like the phoenix to be the Ebony to my Ivory, the Darth Vader to my Luke Skywalker. It had to happen. Can one really exist without the other?

Bike highlight are a mix of Campy ten components, Zipp 303's and a Specialized Barmac. Final touch was a set of Zero Gravity Cantis. Why did he buy those? Because you can't!

Ok mike I have to fess up. I was a little scared when I got your email. The last guy I knew who referred to himself as "fish" rode a flatland bike with a jester hat. However, you have yourself a fine, fine lady. In my humble opinion though, ditch the Vittoria EVO's. Don't get me wrong. Those are one of the best tires ever made, but road tires on a cx bike is like putting one of those donut-sized spare tire on a hummer (Not my best work but I'm 3 Macallan shots in). This bike is BEGGING for some Challenge Grifo XS Clinchers.

Hey thought you might enjoy some shots of my new x bike. I had IF make it in steel with upgraded stainless drop outs and custom decal placement. It's "meteorite silver metallic" which is a charcoal color and the black decals keep it super stealthy. Wheels are Phil high-flange 28 hole w/ DT aero blades radial & 2 cross to DT RR1.1 rims. White cranks, Paul brakes, Record levers, and Brooks ti swallow for the ass. Just need Minneapolis to warm up a bit so I can enjoy it.

Have fun hiding that bike in that dark basement for the rest of your life since, I don't know, EVERY CYCLING DORK IN THE WORLD KNOWS IT. I seriously doubt anyone is dumber than you and would buy it. I wouldn't worry too much though it's not like Lance has more money than God and holds a serious grudge. I'm pretty sure you're screwed. It's not like I have some wicked hard on for Lance. 2009 Cervelo R3 SL

Not too much to say about this bike as everybody pretty much knows them. The bike out the box weighed 14.13lbs without pedals. We swapped the Zipp 303 tubulars for 404 clinchers at the customer's request and added a high rize stem. Even with that and adding pedals the bike was sub 15lbs. Not bad for a 58cm!

The best part was this was part 1 of a 2 bike sale. We had to order the 58cm S3 with Olympic ring paintjob. More on that bike soon...

Dmitri's Tarmac SL Pro

Dmitri decided to get back into crit racing this year after a long hiatus. Nothing like jumping in with both feet! Full Sram Red, BB30 cranks, Barmac, and topped off nicely with some Reynolds DV46 UL wheels and Vittoria Corsa sneakers. This bike is SEXY!

Vince's Indy Fab Singlespeed CX

Here it is! Vince's Independent Fabrications single speed. The whole theme of this bike was pure "murder". We started with picking every black part we could get our hands on then it morphed into something completely different. We were going to use Mavic Elipse wheels with the decals removed but didn't feel they did the bike justice. I got the idea that I could lace the Elipse track hub into some Carbone rims. So there you have it. The only SS/Track Carbone wheel in existence (that I know of). Once we went to that level it only seemed natural to run the record cranks and lever. Anyhow, here she is. FYI, Vince raced this in the slop of Crosstoberfest the next day. This is the last time it will look like this. NOT A SHOW BIKE!

Remember when Barloworld didn't ride those ugly-ass Bianchi's? Hard to believe those dope free (getting caught at least) polka dot jersey times were only a year ago. These are one of the best frames I have ever ridden. Crazy...CRAZY stiff and pretty compliant as well. Full Record kit. He added the wheels this year. Rounds out the package nicely.

Well, when you jump into doing tt's, you might as well jump in with both feet! Here is Matt's custom Cannondale Slice. He opted for a full Campagnolo build with a HED trispoke/disc combo. I love building TT bikes as you get to work with all sorts of goofy crap that really has no other useful application. Besides, JUST LOOK AT IT!

Tim's Schwinn

It doesn't have to be carbon and light to be sexy. Just look at Tim's schwinn. Pictured is Tim and his Schwinn SX 1000 Competition Scrambler, with Weinmann anodized red rims, ACS hubs, and it looks like all the stock goose neck and bar assembly. "16" was his Holiday Hills racing number, the hills being this funky ski resort on the outskirts of Spokane that had this cool downhill BMX track with ABA-sanctioned races. Tractor tread tires rounded out the package.

Speaking of sexy (and packages for that matter). Check out those shorts! Thank goodness for shadows or I may see bubble gum.

"I know. My mom bought those shorts at Albertsons and the mesh tank-top at Sears (we were poor, and I spent all my paper route money on bikes instead of clothes). This bike is a dirty dirty girl. She was built up with sram force (pre red) and Zero Gravity brakes . Complete bike with Look Keo's is 14.4 lbs! Not bad for a 61cm.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Tom sent me some new supplements I've been trying out.

Anyways, Here are some pics of bart's Cannondale Supersix. This bike is SICK. Highlighted by a black anodized hollowgram sl crankset. We had to source every individual piece seperately to make that work since they only sell a mountain version of them! R-SYS wheels feature tubeless tires. He of course also has a set of carbones to run as desired. Drivetrain components are full Sram Red.

Pimp Road: Mark's Tarmac SL2

While I would love to take credit for this bike, Mark knew what he wanted. All I got to pick was the saddle and skewers! Tarmac SL2, zero gravity brakes, zipp 404 tubulars, and sram red throughout. Final build came in at 14.2 lbs with pedals and cages. This is no show bike though. Mark races it weekly.

Here is a nice 2006 Cannondale Optimo Cyclocross. It's all business with a DuraAce 9s group, single ring, and a nice mix of durable/light components. The wheels are custom Ksyrium Sl Tubulars, black hubs and spokes with polished silver rims!
